Autódromo Juan Manuel Fangio reopens in Balcarce after 15 years
The Juan Manuel Fangio Autodrome in Balcarce, Argentina, has officially reopened after 15 years of inactivity. The reopening ceremony was led by the Governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, alongside local officials and representatives from the Asociación Corredores de Turismo Carretera (ACTC).
The renovation project involved an investment of 3,314 million pesos. Key improvements included redefining the track layout, expanding escape zones, enhancing safety barriers and assistance systems, and renovating the pits, grandstands, access points, and press areas. These upgrades aim to bring the circuit up to modern safety standards required for national competitions.
The return of motorsport to the historic venue is expected to boost the local economy of Balcarce through increased tourism, commerce, and job creation. The circuit will host various national categories, starting with the TC Pick Up, TC Pista Pick Up, and Turismo Special de la Costa during the reopening weekend.
