Juan Manuel Serrano mobile phone cloning completed in Leire Díez case

The Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Guardia Civil has completed the cloning of the mobile phone belonging to Juan Manuel Serrano, the former chief of staff to Pedro Sánchez. This action follows an order from Judge Santiago Pedraz in the ongoing Leire Díez case.

The process produced two distinct copies of the device's content. One is a 'raw dump' to be deposited at the National Court (Audiencia Nacional) to ensure data integrity, while the second is a 'processed copy' intended for investigators to analyze Serrano's potential involvement in the case.

The decision to re-clone the device came after Judge Pedraz rejected legal challenges from Serrano's defense, which had sought to invalidate the initial seizure and the first cloning attempt. The previous attempt was considered procedurally flawed because it was conducted without the presence of the investigated party and his legal counsel.
