Jucu, Romania and Mașcăuți, Moldova agree to twin partnership

The commune of Jucu in Cluj County, Romania, and the village of Mașcăuți in the Criuleni district of Moldova are set to sign a twinning agreement within the next month. The partnership aims to foster joint development projects, improve infrastructure, and strengthen cultural ties across the Prut River.

Mayor Valentin‑Dorel Pojar highlighted that EU funding has already helped modernise Jucu, adding utilities, road upgrades and cultural facilities, and he expects similar benefits for Mașcăuți. Both local authorities see the agreement as a way to boost local economies and deepen people‑to‑people connections between the two communities.
