Judge Olga Bejenari undergoes external integrity evaluation
Judge Olga Bejenari is undergoing an external integrity evaluation regarding her financial and ethical conduct. The vetting process includes an investigation into potentially unjustified wealth accumulated between 2014 and 2017, as well as ethical concerns regarding a judicial ruling.
Bejenari gained significant public attention for a December 2024 decision that allowed Marina Tauber to leave Moldova. This decision occurred despite requests from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to prevent Tauber's departure due to risks of her traveling to Russia. Tauber was later sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for illegal party financing and has since remained abroad.
Additionally, Bejenari was part of the judicial panel involved in cases concerning Vladimir Plahotniuc and Evghenia Guțul. The vetting commission will prepare a report with conclusions and recommendations for the Superior Council of Magistracy regarding her professional advancement.
