Moldovan judicial integrity evaluations
Overview
Moldovan judges have undergone external integrity evaluations regarding their financial conduct and assets.
Judge Olga Bejenari faced an investigation into potentially unjustified wealth accumulated between 2014 and 2017, alongside ethical scrutiny concerning a December 2024 ruling that permitted Marina Tauber to leave the country. The vetting process also considered her involvement in judicial panels for cases involving Vladimir Plahotniuc and Evghenia Guțul.
Separately, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) concluded an audit of former Chisinau Court judge Arina Ialanji, covering the period from August 2016 to April 2025. Investigators found no substantial discrepancies between Ialanji’s declared income and her assets, including various vehicles and reported gifts from family members. Ialanji resigned from her position during her evaluation process.
