Jeanine John Taele: Ex-Marine arrested at Trump golf course

A Los Angeles County judge has suspended criminal proceedings against Jeanine John Taele, a 38-year-old former U.S. Marine, pending a mental competency hearing. Taele was arrested on August 2 at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes after being observed taking photographs and videos of the property, appearing to monitor security activities.

During the arrest, authorities discovered a loaded 9mm pistol, binoculars, and a security protection agent badge in Taele’s pickup truck. He was also found to be carrying hollow-point ammunition in his pocket. A subsequent search of his residence yielded additional weapons, body armor, and high-capacity magazines.

Investigators recovered approximately 200 pages of writings belonging to Taele. These documents included sketches of the golf course and detailed schedules for First Lady Melania Trump and members of the Secret Service, as well as plans for surviving “off the grid.”

Judge John Lonergan Jr. revoked Taele’s previous $250,000 bail, ordering him to be held without bail. The judge cited concerns regarding political partisanship and the disturbing nature of the notebooks. Taele is currently scheduled for a competency hearing in a Hollywood mental health court on September 9.
