Judicial authorities implement new training protocols in Morocco and Portugal
In Marrakech, the Judicial Circle of the Court of Appeal organized a training session on October 1, 2026, for prosecutors and judicial police officers. Led by Attorney General Khaled Kerdoudi, the session focused on updates to the Criminal Procedure Code, specifically regarding search, seizure, and freezing procedures. Instructors Mohamed Qari and Abdelatif Ait Ibrahim addressed practical challenges and legal nuances to ensure unified procedural practices.
In Portugal, the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) has approved a new Training Regulation to address the digitalization of the justice system. The regulation prioritizes training in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital evidence, and data protection. A new CSM Training Unit will manage requirements and annual plans. While training is generally optional, the CSM may mandate attendance for judges in specialized jurisdictions, following major legislative reforms, or during the first five years of a career.
