Judicial schools in Mexico and Argentina launch specialized legal training

Judicial institutions in Mexico and Argentina are expanding specialized legal training programs to address evolving social and technological challenges.

In Mexico, the Escuela Judicial del Estado de México has implemented a specialty program in Juvenile Criminal Justice. Led by Director General José Luis Embris Vásquez, the program focuses on rehabilitation and social reintegration rather than mere punishment. The curriculum emphasizes human rights, restorative justice, and the social and family contexts of adolescents in conflict with the law. Originally for judicial personnel, the program is now open to the general public.

In Argentina, the Superior Tribunal de Justicia launched the Fueguian Diploma in Criminal and Procedural Criminal Law through the Escuela Judicial ‘María Angélica Barreda’. Presided over by President María del Carmen Battaini, the program aims to prepare professionals for emerging crimes related to new technologies and changes in juvenile law. The course will run through July 2027 in Ushuaia and Río Grande, featuring a faculty of specialists and high-ranking judges.
