Judicial suspension in Catamarca and animal rights injunction in Muna

In Argentina, the Court of Justice of Catamarca has announced a total suspension of judicial activities for Monday, August 31. This measure, formalized through Accordance No. 4842, follows a request from the Catamarca Bar Association to observe Lawyer's Day. During this period, all procedural terms will be suspended, meaning no legal deadlines will run and no hearings or judicial proceedings will take place across the province's judicial branches.

In Mexico, a federal judge has issued a provisional injunction regarding bullfighting events during the Traditional Festival of Muna. Following an amparo lawsuit filed by civil associations Animal Héroes and PETA Latino, the court prohibited the use of any instruments or practices that cause physical injury, bleeding, pain, or undue stress to bulls and other animals. While the ruling does not cancel the festival itself, it strictly forbids the use of swords, banderillas, or any tools that inflict harm. Consequently, the local parish canceled its scheduled event after the injunction was issued.
