Jujuy Justicialist Party authorizes single list for internal elections

The Electoral Board of the Justicialist Party (PJ) in Jujuy has officially authorized only one list, ‘Generación Valiente’, for the internal elections scheduled for August 30, 2026.

Through Resolutions 21/2026 and 22/2026, the board confirmed that ‘Generación Valiente’ met all requirements of the party's organic charter and electoral regulations. Conversely, the ‘Celeste y Blanca’ list, led by Deputy Rubén Rivarola, was disqualified. The board determined that the corrections submitted by Rivarola’s group exceeded the scope of simple error rectification, noting more than 300 modifications to the original roster, including new candidates and complete replacements of departmental lists.

Rubén Rivarola has appealed the decision, arguing that the group complied with the legal deadlines and questioning why different criteria were applied compared to ‘Generación Valiente’. He has requested a suspension of the electoral schedule pending a judicial ruling. The ‘Generación Valiente’ list is supported by Senator Carolina Moisés, who proposed Carlos de Aparici as a candidate.
