Jujuy launches $700M sewage project for 20,000 users

The Governor of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir, has launched a major sewage collector project in the Alto Comedero and Palpalá regions. The infrastructure project, managed by Agua Potable de Jujuy, involves the construction of a 3,700-meter collector extending from the 10 Hectáreas neighborhood to Las Tipas.

With an investment exceeding $700 million funded by provincial resources, the work aims to improve sanitation for the metropolitan area and enable up to 20,000 new household connections to the sewage system. The project is expected to take approximately 180 days to complete.

Juan Carlos García, president of Agua Potable de Jujuy, noted that the new system will allow for the decommissioning of three existing sewage pumping stations. The project is particularly critical for the area due to soil characteristics that make traditional septic tanks ineffective.
