Jujuy named Best Mountain Destination in South America for 2026

The Argentine province of Jujuy has been named the Best Mountain Destination in South America for 2026. This distinction was awarded during the inaugural Mountain Destination Awards, organized by the global travel marketing platform Tripscout.

Unlike traditional tourism awards decided by juries, this ranking was determined by Social IQ, Tripscout’s data analysis engine. The system evaluated digital engagement and social media interaction across more than 1,100 mountain destinations worldwide, measuring how effectively content inspired travel conversations and connected with global audiences.

The recognition highlights Jujuy’s diverse landscapes, including the Quebrada de Humahuaca—a UNESCO World Heritage site—as well as the Puna, the Valleys, and the Yungas. These regions were noted for their geological diversity, cultural richness, and strong digital presence.
