Jujuy restructures air connectivity amid tourism growth

The province of Jujuy is undergoing a restructuring of its air connectivity. Federico Posadas, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, announced that Flybondi will gradually cease operations in the province following continuous delays, cancellations, and itinerary reconfigurations. Consequently, the provincial government has terminated previous agreements with the company.

To address the service gap, Joy Airline is scheduled to begin operations at Horacio Guzmán International Airport in late September. The airline will establish an operational base in the province, initially offering two daily connections to Buenos Aires and one daily flight to Córdoba using a Bombardier CRJ-200 LR. Additionally, JetSMART will resume operations on October 3, providing daily flights between Jujuy and Buenos Aires.

Parallel to these aviation changes, Jujuy reported a successful tourism period during the long weekend from August 14 to 17. The province saw an 85.71% hotel occupancy rate, with over 32,158 visitors and an economic impact of approximately 11.8 billion pesos. High occupancy levels were noted in the Valles region (92.73%) and Quebrada (86.20%), driven by various cultural and musical events.
