Julia Prastini arrested for using etomidate in vape cartridges
Indonesian influencer Julia Prastini, known as Jule, was arrested by the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police in Jakarta following the discovery of vape cartridges containing etomidate. Etomidate is a medical anesthetic typically used by specialists for short-acting intravenous sedation during emergency procedures.
The investigation began after police arrested two women, identified as RR and RN, who were allegedly supplying etomidate-infused vape liquids. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a Chinese national, XC, identified as a major distributor.
Jule tested positive for etomidate in a urine analysis and stated she had been using the substance for two to three weeks to manage stress. Authorities have designated her as a user rather than a suspect, opting for restorative justice. She is scheduled to undergo rehabilitation through the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
