Julia Prastini etomidate vape case

Overview

Indonesian influencer Julia Prastini, known as Jule, was arrested by Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police in Jakarta after authorities discovered vape cartridges containing etomidate. The investigation into the substance, a medical anesthetic used for intravenous sedation, initially targeted two women and a Chinese national identified as a major distributor.

Prastini tested positive for etomidate during a urine analysis, stating she had used the substance for two to three weeks to manage stress. Because police found no evidence of distribution or sales, authorities designated her as a user rather than a suspect. She was recommended for rehabilitation through a restorative justice process via the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

By late September 2026, Prastini reappeared on social media. While she was seen engaging in routine activities such as shopping, observers noted a significant change in her physical appearance, remarking that she appeared much thinner than before.
