Julian Brandt praises Florian Wirtz as Germany's best player

Ajax midfielder Julian Brandt has expressed high praise for Florian Wirtz, describing him as 'by far the best player in Germany.' Speaking on the 'Spielmacher' podcast, Brandt highlighted Wirtz's exceptional technical abilities, specifically noting his movement between lines and his capacity to find solutions in difficult situations.

Despite recent criticism regarding Wirtz's performance levels following his €125 million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool in the summer of 2025, Brandt believes the midfielder is in the right place. He noted that while Wirtz does not fit the typical physical, one-on-one prototype often seen in the Premier League, his elegant playing style gives him the potential to become one of the league's standout performers.

Brandt dismissed rumors suggesting Wirtz might need to leave Liverpool, asserting that the player possesses the qualities to succeed at Anfield despite the challenges of adapting to the English top flight.
