Juliana Guerrero sentenced for using fraudulent degrees to seek government office
Juliana Guerrero, a former official linked to Gustavo Petro’s administration, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison after admitting to procedural fraud and ideological falsehood in public documents. Guerrero reached a plea agreement with the Prosecutor General's Office, acknowledging that she used fraudulent academic degrees from Fundación Universitaria San José to qualify for the position of Vice-Minister of Youth within the Ministry of Equality.

The case has sparked political controversy, with Senator Jennifer Pedraza criticizing former President Petro for his repeated public defenses of Guerrero and raising concerns about a potential network of irregular degree issuances at the university.
