Juliana Guerrero, a former official in the administration of Gustavo Petro, was sentenced to 36 months in prison after admitting to procedural fraud and ideological falsehood. If this charge is successful, she could face up to 12 years in prison and a disqualification from public office for up to 15 years. Guerrero has publicly apologized to her family and the country but has denied allegations regarding her methods of career advancement, claiming she is a victim of slander.
