Julie Andrews wins second consecutive Emmy at age 90

Julie Andrews has won her second consecutive Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys. At 90 years old, Andrews has extended her own record as the oldest woman to ever win a Primetime Emmy, having previously set the mark at age 89.

Andrews was recognized for her narration as Lady Whistledown in the Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’. Because she was not in attendance at the ceremony, Eric Bauza accepted the award on her behalf. The win marks the seventh Emmy for the series, including two for Andrews’s voice work.

In recent comments to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrews indicated that she has moved away from on-camera acting, stating, ‘I think the absolute truth is that I think I’m really past all that now.’ While she will not appear in the upcoming ‘Princess Diaries’ sequel, she remains active in the industry through books, podcasts, and voiceover work.
