Julio Iglesias complainants appeal to United Nations

Two women, Rebeca and Laura, have escalated their legal complaints against singer Julio Iglesias to the United Nations. The complainants, who previously filed lawsuits in Spain's Audiencia Nacional alleging sexual and labor offenses, are seeking international intervention through six special UN mechanisms.

The legal firm Women’s Link has alerted the UN that the complainants' privacy and security have been compromised. This follows the publication of a video by Okdiari featuring a statement from one of the women; while her face was pixelated, her voice remained identifiable, which lawyers argue undermines efforts to protect her identity.

The petition to the UN requests that the Spanish state be asked to guarantee an effective, independent, and impartial investigation. Additionally, it calls for urgent measures to protect the women, their families, and witnesses from potential intimidation or retaliation due to the singer's significant economic and social influence.

Amidst these legal developments, members of the Iglesias family, including Miranda Rijnsburger, have maintained a low profile in Marbella, avoiding media inquiries regarding the ongoing litigation.
