Julio Iglesias faces new lawsuit over alleged sexual assault and labor abuse

Two former employees of singer Julio Iglesias have filed a new lawsuit in Spain, alleging sexual assault, harassment, and labor exploitation. Supported by the organization Women's Link Worldwide, the complainants—identified by the pseudonyms Rebeca and Laura—filed the complaint with the Audiencia Nacional on Thursday.

The allegations pertain to incidents that reportedly occurred in 2021 at the artist's residences in the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. The legal action includes accusations of human trafficking for forced labor, sexual freedom violations, injury, and degrading treatment.

This new legal path follows a previous attempt in January 2026, which was archived by the Prosecutor's Office on the grounds that Spanish courts lacked territorial jurisdiction over events occurring abroad. The current lawsuit seeks a judicial determination on whether Spanish law allows for the prosecution of these specific crimes committed outside national territory by a Spanish citizen.
