Jumbo Group posts 9% July sales rise, expands in Israel and Canada

The Greek retail chain Jumbo Group reported that its July 2026 sales grew 9% compared with the same month a year earlier and 7% versus June, pushing the cumulative sales increase for the January‑July period to about 5%. Net profit for the year is projected at €310‑320 million.

The company highlighted the impact of the European Union’s removal of the low‑value import duty exemption effective 1 July 2026, which introduces a temporary €3 charge per tariff class for goods up to €150. Jumbo also noted strong performance in its core markets: Greece saw a roughly 10% YoY rise, Cyprus 14%, Bulgaria 21%, while Romania’s network recorded a modest 3% decline.

In August the group opened its eighth store in Israel through a local franchise partner, with a ninth store slated for later this year. The first Canadian outlet is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.
