Jumbo Group business performance and expansion
Overview
Jumbo Group has maintained its positive sales trajectory through the third quarter of 2026. Following a 9% increase in July sales, the company reported that August sales also grew by 9% year-over-year, resulting in cumulative sales growth of approximately 5.8% for the January–August period. This performance has surpassed management’s annual growth target of 5%.
Financial results for the first half of 2026 show a net profit of €120.6 million, a 2.92% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Sales for the first half rose by 4.42% to €519.26 million, while EBITDA grew by 2.81% to €170 million. Management has reaffirmed its 2026 net profit guidance of €310–320 million, noting that global uncertainties, such as Middle East tensions affecting energy and transport costs, remain factors.
Due to its strong financial position, the Board has approved an extraordinary cash dividend of €1.00 per share, totaling approximately €134.37 million. This brings the total shareholder returns for the year to approximately €2.20 per share. The ex-dividend date is set for November 16, 2026, with payments scheduled to begin on November 20, 2026.
Regional performance and expansion continue. While core markets like Greece, Cyprus, and Bulgaria show strength, a new hypermarket is scheduled to open in Baia Mare, Romania, by the end of October. International expansion remains on track, including the goal of five Israeli stores by year-end and the opening of a first Canadian outlet in the fourth quarter of 2026. Additionally, the group plans to open a new store in Cyprus in 2027.
