Jumicar traffic safety program educates young students
The Jumicar traffic culture program for young children has been implemented in various locations to promote road safety through theoretical and practical education. In Jakšić, students at the ‘Mladost’ Primary School participated in activities on a specially designed traffic polygon, learning about pedestrian and cyclist behavior, the importance of reflective clothing, and recognizing traffic signals. The program, based on a Finnish concept, included representatives from the Požega-Slavonia County Emergency Medical Service and the Jakšić Volunteer Fire Department.
Similarly, in Mače, the program reached 82 students from several local primary schools, including those from Mihovljan, Lobor, and Brestovec. This session featured lectures by police officers on safe road crossing, seatbelt use, and recognizing traffic hazards. The initiative also aimed to build trust between children and police officers by introducing them to official police vehicles and equipment.
