Junior Caminero leads American League home run race

Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays has taken the lead in the American League home run race, hitting his 38th home run of the season during a 6-3 victory over the Rangers. His blast, a 425-foot shot off Jacob deGrom, moved him ahead of Houston Astros star Yordan Álvarez, who currently sits at 37 home runs.

This shift impacts the pursuit of the Triple Crown. Álvarez, who previously held a strong position to become the first Triple Crown winner since Miguel Cabrera in 2012, now faces increased competition from Caminero, who maintains a .281 batting average and 91 RBIs.
