Junta de Andalucía allocates one million euros for Civil Protection
The Junta de Andalucía has launched a call for subsidies totaling one million euros to support local Civil Protection volunteer groups. The application period is open for fifteen business days. The funding aims to strengthen municipal response capacities during emergencies and risks. The distribution of funds will be divided into three parts: 25% distributed equally among applicants, 40% based on the number of registered female volunteers, and 35% based on the number of registered male volunteers.
In a separate development regarding emergency services, Antonio Sanz, the Vice President and Minister of Presidency, Health, and Emergencies, received the Medalla de la Villa de Grazalema on behalf of the Emergency Agency of Andalusia (EMA). This award, along with several Honorable Mentions, recognizes the work performed during the floods that impacted the Grazalema area in February. Other entities recognized for their roles in emergency management and population support include the Guardia Civil and the Military Emergencies Unit (UME).
