Junta de Andalucía appoints interim chief of Intervención General

The regional government of Andalucía has filled the vacancy at the head of its Intervención General, the highest internal audit body, after the resignation of Miguel Ángel Figueroa Teva. Figueroa, who served for 17 months, stepped down at his own request amid an investigation linking him to former SEPI president Vicente Fernández Guerrero and a commission‑payment scandal involving Leire Díaz of the PSOE.

To maintain continuity while a new government is formed, the council appointed the most senior division chief within the Intervención General on an interim basis, as provided by the regional organization and functioning regulations. The appointment is provisional, pending a permanent selection once the new administration is in place.
