Junta de Andalucía allocates €619 million for flood recovery and other infrastructure upgrades

The Junta de Andalucía has earmarked €619 million to repair watercourses, drainage and other hydraulic infrastructure damaged by severe winter storms. €543 million will be transferred to municipalities for 559 reconstruction projects, while €76.6 million funds works carried out by the Confederación Hidrográfica del Guadalquivir. A new €200 million assistance line will support urban water‑course works.

Additional regional investments include more than €22 million for vegetation control on autonomous roads across the provinces of Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and Sevilla, aimed at improving road safety and reducing fire risk.

Transport projects are progressing: the southern extension of the Metro de Granada to Las Gabias, a 4.6‑km line, completed its first test run and will undergo higher‑speed trials in August before full service.

Local authorities are also upgrading urban facilities: Sevilla’s Ayuntamiento has awarded AUSSA a four‑year concession to operate a new 110‑space surface car park in the Triana district; Marbella’s council granted a €5.47 million contract to Alberife Servicios Urbanos Integrados for cleaning and maintaining Puerto Banús; and Toledo’s mayor Carlos Velázquez announced a ten‑month overhaul of the water supply and sewer network on Coronel Baeza, set to start in September.

These projects together represent a coordinated effort by Andalusian institutions to enhance safety, mobility and resilience across the region.
