Juárez Mayor outlines municipal priorities and waste management plans
Mayor Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel announced that the municipal administration is working to regularize garbage collection services without incurring extra costs. The city is relying on support from existing concessionaire companies to maintain service, particularly in sectors 3 and 4 where collection currently occurs twice a week. The mayor stated that the municipality has no plans to purchase or rent additional trucks; instead, the company Aseo Municipal is tasked with fulfilling its contract. If the company fails to meet the required tonnage, payments will be withheld, and the administration may consider contract rescission.
Regarding future fiscal planning, Ortiz Orpinel stated that the 2027 budget will prioritize strengthening public services and completing major infrastructure projects. Key developments slated for completion include Parque Poniente, the Centro Comunitario México Imparable, and a new municipal slaughterhouse. The mayor noted that municipal finances remain stable due to taxpayer compliance, ensuring that current programs and works can proceed despite pending federal participations.
