Mexico water and sanitation authorities conduct regional infrastructure repairs

Various municipal water and sanitation authorities across Mexico are conducting infrastructure improvements and repairs. In Mexicali, CESPM is installing over 4,600 meters of water piping and mobile bathrooms in the rural community of La Ladrillera to benefit 162 residents.

In Ciudad Juárez, JMAS reported attending over 20,000 water service reports between January and July 2026, primarily involving leaks and pressure issues. Crews are also working to repair eight sinkholes caused by aging infrastructure and recent rainfall.

In Sinaloa, JAPAMA is rehabilitating collapsed drainage in Ejido Nuevo San Miguel, while COMUN is working on storm drainage in Ejido 9 de Diciembre to prevent flooding. In Mazatlán, heavy rains have caused significant waste accumulation in drainage systems, prompting environmental alerts and cleanup efforts.

Other regional updates include sanitation network rehabilitation by Jumapam in Mazatlán, drainage construction in Mineral de la Reforma, and the final stages of subcollector rehabilitation by Interapas in San Luis Potosí.
