Montenegrin literary events feature poetry awards and novel presentations

Several literary events and awards have recently taken place in Montenegro. At the 56th Ratković's Evenings of Poetry in Bijelo Polje, the ‘Risto Ratković’ award for 2026 was presented equally to two authors: Dejan Ilić for his book ‘Pokopani rt’ and Obrad Nenezić for the collection ‘Happy end… za tužni završetak’. Jury president Olga Vojičić Komatina noted the high quality of the 46 submitted manuscripts from across the region.

In Tivat, as part of the Tivat Literary Summer, author Marko Braković presented his novel ‘Tvrda kora’. Braković, a psychotherapist and musician, discussed the diary-style format of the book and his use of artificial intelligence for proofreading and cover design. Additionally, the program featured Croatian author Jurica Pavičić, who presented his novel ‘Žigice’ at the Tivat Museum and Gallery.
