Justin Martin charged with attempted murder in Ocean County

Justin Martin, 36, of Saddle Brook, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault following an incident in the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area in Plumsted Township.

On Thursday afternoon, emergency responders were called to a wooded area near Hawkin Road and Success Road, where they discovered a woman suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. The victim was transported to the Temple University Burn Center in Philadelphia and is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators determined that Martin allegedly caused the injuries and then fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving the woman behind. Detectives located Martin in Asbury Park shortly after midnight on Friday. He was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
