Juventus and striker Dušan Vlahović part ways after contract dispute

Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović has failed to reach a new contract with Juventus. The player demanded an annual salary of €8 million plus a signing bonus, while the club offered €6 million with an additional €1 million in bonuses, far below his expectations. As a result, the parties will cease negotiations and Vlahović is set to leave Juventus as a free agent in the summer of 2026.

During his four‑and‑a‑half‑year spell in Turin, Vlahović made 168 appearances, scored 68 goals and provided 16 assists, winning one Coppa Italia. Juventus paid around €85 million for his transfer from Fiorentina. The club’s reduced wage budget, caused by uncertainty over Champions League participation, has limited its ability to meet the striker’s wage demands. Barcelona have been linked with Vlahović, and the Catalan club is reportedly evaluating the possibility of signing him without a transfer fee if he becomes a free agent.
