Juventus and Vlahovic in stalled renewal talks, player seeks captain role

Juventus is negotiating a new contract with Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, but discussions have stalled. New CEO Giovanni Carnevali is handling the case, aiming to keep the club’s offer within its current €6 million‑per‑season ceiling. Vlahovic, whose current deal expires on 30 June, is demanding a leadership status, asking to be treated as a "captain" of the squad.

The striker, who missed 21 matches due to an adductor injury, remains in Turin for treatment and hopes to return in full fitness for the next season. While Juventus has not yet closed the deal, Turkish side Besiktas, coached by Vincenzo Italiano – Vlahovic’s former manager at Fiorentina – is reported to be preparing a substantial offer to lure the forward away on a free transfer after his contract ends.
