JW Marriott to debut in downtown Greenville, South Carolina

Auro Hotels has announced plans to bring South Carolina’s first JW Marriott to downtown Greenville. The 335-room luxury hotel will be located within the planned six-acre Falls Park Conference District and will involve the redevelopment of the historic Bowater Building overlooking the Reedy River.

In partnership with the City of Greenville and The Furman Co., the project is expected to include a city-owned conference center, residential and office spaces, retail, and public green space. The hotel will feature a fitness center, four food and beverage outlets, a JW Garden, an executive lounge, and over 8,800 square feet of meeting and event space. An elevated pedestrian bridge is planned to connect the hotel to the conference center and the downtown area.

Pending final approvals, construction is anticipated to begin in mid-2027 and is expected to last between 18 and 24 months. Upon completion, the hotel is projected to create approximately 175 jobs.
