JW Marriott expansion in South Carolina
Overview
Auro Hotels has announced plans to introduce the first JW Marriott to downtown Greenville, South Carolina. The 335-room luxury hotel is slated for development within the planned six-acre Falls Park Conference District, involving the redevelopment of the historic Bowater Building near the Reedy River.
In collaboration with The Furman Co. and the City of Greenville, the project is intended to integrate a city-owned conference center, retail, office and residential spaces, and public green space. Planned amenities for the hotel include a JW Garden, an executive lounge, four food and beverage outlets, and over 8,800 square feet of meeting space. An elevated pedestrian bridge will connect the property to the surrounding downtown area.
Pending final approvals, construction is expected to commence in mid-2027 with a duration of 18 to 24 months. The completed hotel is projected to generate approximately 175 jobs.
