JYSK to acquire 25 franchise stores in the Balkans
Danish retail chain JYSK has reached an agreement to acquire 25 franchise stores and their employees in Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia from their current franchise partner. This move transitions these markets from a franchise model to JYSK’s own direct organization.
The acquisition includes 12 locations in Kosovo, 7 in North Macedonia, and 6 in Albania. JYSK has maintained a presence in Kosovo since 2004, North Macedonia since 2008, and Albania since 2015 through the existing partnership.
CEO Rami Jensen stated that the integration aims to allow for direct investment in future expansion, store facilities, and staff. The transaction is expected to be finalized by January 1, 2027, subject to necessary regulatory approvals. Until the completion, business operations will continue under the current arrangement.
