K-Beauty industry growth drives new skincare trends in Brazil and Canada

South Korea's cosmetics sector, ranked second worldwide after France, is expanding its scientific‑driven K‑Beauty products abroad. Export sales are projected to reach US$11.4 billion in 2025, powered by biotech ingredients such as salmon‑derived PDRN, biomimetic peptides and fermented actives, as well as micro‑spicule delivery systems. Jimmy Lee, director of KS Cosmetics, notes that Korean firms develop ingredients in combination, turning research into accessible innovations.

In Brazil, the K‑Beauty wave that began in 2015 has created a billion‑dollar market. Brands like Celimax, Onul31, Wati for Skin, DEAR MAY, Rom&nd and TIRTIR are gaining shelf space, emphasizing preventive skincare, minimalist routines and a natural‑glow aesthetic. Local consumers are shifting from treating existing skin issues to protecting the skin barrier and seeking multifunctional products that suit the tropical climate.

Canadian consumers are also seeing more K‑Beauty offerings, attracted by the same scientific advancements and the promise of dermatologist‑inspired formulations. The combined rise in Brazil and Canada highlights the global reach of South Korean cosmetic innovation.
