Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi defects from NDC to APC

Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, a prominent figure in the Kwankwasiyya political movement and a long-time ally of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has defected from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abdullahi, who has been associated with Kwankwaso for nearly 30 years, announced his resignation in a letter to the party chairman of Kofar Ruwa Ward in Kano State’s Dala Local Government Area. He cited years of unfulfilled promises and a lack of political recognition as his primary reasons for leaving. “I have been with Kwankwaso for 29 years but have only benefited from failed promises. I will go to where I will be respected more,” Abdullahi stated.

Following his departure from the NDC, Abdullahi declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections. This move follows a period where Abdullahi had publicly defended Kwankwaso during political controversies in Kano State.
