Kade Anderson makes MLB debut for Seattle Mariners

Kade Anderson, the Seattle Mariners' top pitching prospect, made his Major League Baseball debut on Saturday night against the Chicago Cubs. The 22-year-old left-hander, who was the third overall pick in the 2025 draft, pitched five innings, allowing two runs on two home runs.

Anderson recorded five strikeouts during his outing, including a strikeout of Alex Bregman in the first inning. He was pulled in the sixth inning after allowing consecutive home runs to Bregman and Michael Busch. His performance helped the Mariners secure a 5-4 victory.

Prior to his call-up, Anderson dominated at the Double-A level with the Arkansas Travelers, posting a 1.06 ERA and a 0.64 WHIP over 18 starts. To make room for Anderson on the active roster, the Mariners designated pitcher Jhonathan Díaz for assignment.
