Kadri Zeka and Gërvalla brothers assassination: New details emerge

New details have emerged regarding the 1982 assassination of activists Kadri Zeka, Jusuf Gërvalla, and Bardhosh Gërvalla in Heilbronn, Germany. Saime Isufi, the widow of Kadri Zeka, has provided accounts of the night of the killings, stating she received news of the deaths via telephone and believes the Yugoslav secret service, UDB, was responsible for the attack.

Historical documents from the Albanian State Security files have also surfaced, revealing past suspicions held by Suzana Gërvalla, the wife of Jusuf Gërvalla. The documents suggest that Suzana Gërvalla had expressed distrust toward Saime Isufi to security officials, alleging that Isufi might have been an agent sent by the UDB and noting her perceived coldness during the funeral ceremonies.

Isufi has categorically denied any allegations regarding her integrity or involvement with secret services, clarifying her use of the nickname ‘Bule’. The events surrounding the deaths are also linked to a period of intense political activity, including efforts to unify Albanian illegal organizations following the 1981 demonstrations in Kosovo.
