Kaduna ADC factions unite after leadership dispute
Leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State gathered for a three‑hour reconciliation meeting at the office of the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Hon. Isa Ashiru. Attendees including Elder Patrick Ambut, Ben Bako, Tijjani Mustapha, Bege Katuka, Zonal Vice‑Chairman Hajiya Hafsat Baba and other stakeholders said the meeting ended the long‑running factional split and paved the way for unified party activities in the state.
Earlier, former ADC chieftain Salihu Mohammed Lukman announced his resignation from the party and suspension of coalition activities, citing hostile treatment from Governor Nasir El‑Rufai and his supporters. Lukman alleged manipulation of coalition leadership decisions, accused El‑Rufai of marginalising him and warned that the ADC’s role in the upcoming 2027 elections had been reduced to a peripheral participant.
