Kaduna bandits kill resident and abduct nine in community raid

Suspected bandits launched an attack on the Babban Saura community in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Thursday, October 1. The raid, which occurred during Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day, involved the invasion of three separate residences.

During the attack, a resident identified as Sikiru was shot and killed after he reportedly attempted to resist the assailants. The bandits subsequently abducted his wife and two children. In another residence, attackers took a woman named Maman Mubarak and her four children.

Local vigilante commander Usman Adamu reported that security forces, including soldiers, responded to a distress call and tracked the attackers toward the Eastern Bypass area. While the security team successfully rescued Maman Mubarak, the bandits managed to escape with the remaining abductees, including four children.
