Kaduna Police rescue 75 kidnapped travellers in Birnin Gwari

The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued 75 travellers, including men, women, and children, who were abducted by armed gunmen near Folwaya Village in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

The victims were traveling in commercial buses when they were intercepted by unidentified assailants wielding AK-47 rifles and other sophisticated weapons. The kidnappers reportedly moved the captives into a forest and concealed them within a cave in a mountainous region.

Following credible information provided by the Birnin Gwari branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), a specialized team from the Birnin Gwari Area Command was deployed to the site. Upon the arrival of the police operatives, the abductors fled into the forest, abandoning the victims, who were rescued unharmed.
