Kaduna Police rescue dozens of kidnap victims in multiple operations

The Kaduna State Police Command has conducted multiple successful operations to rescue kidnap victims across different regions of the state.

In Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, police rescued 75 individuals, including Fulani men, women, and children. The victims had been intercepted from commercial buses near Folwaya Village by gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles and were being held in a cave in a mountainous forest area. The rescue was prompted by information from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

In a separate operation in the Makarfi Local Government Area, security forces engaged in a gun battle with suspected bandits near Gidan Mijin Gwaggo, Durum. Following the exchange of fire, police discovered a hideout in a house belonging to Yakubu Sule, where they rescued three victims, including Alhaji Hamza Shuaibu Gimi. Authorities also recovered a motorcycle used by the kidnappers.

Additionally, survivors of a large-scale kidnapping in Nigeria's remote forests are receiving medical treatment at Kwara State University Teaching Hospital. These individuals were part of a group of 163 hostages rescued from Kainji Lake National Park following an attack on Woro village.
