Kahramanmaraş launches digital platform for women entrepreneurs

The Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality has launched the ‘Kahraman Kadın’ platform to support women entrepreneurs by connecting them to digital markets. Developed in collaboration with Kahramanmaraş İstiklal Science and Technology University and the Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM), the initiative aims to foster the economic, social, and personal development of women in the region.

The platform provides comprehensive support that spans from production to marketing. In addition to offering training and development opportunities to enhance skills, the digital platform allows women to sell products online, reaching a much wider customer base. This helps transform local skills and manual labor into significant economic value.

A notable example of the platform's impact is seen in the Türkoğlu district, specifically within the Kızılağaç Agricultural Development Cooperative. Women in the Murat Çakıroğlu neighborhood utilize approximately 2,000 hectares for strawberry production. These strawberries are processed into jams and other local goods, which are then made available to consumers through the digital marketplace.
