Kaşif Kozinoğlu investigation leads to arrests and Kurtlar Vadisi links

An investigation into the 2011 death of former MİT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in Silivri Prison has expanded, leading to several high-profile arrests. The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating whether elements of the popular television series ‘Kurtlar Vadisi’ contained information related to the death, specifically noting a scene in the show that mirrored Kozinoğlu's passing.

Former police chief Bayram Özbek has been arrested on charges of ‘forming or managing an armed terrorist organization’ and ‘instigating intentional murder.’ Prosecutors allege Özbek was involved in the scriptwriting of the series. However, the production company, Pana Film, has denied these claims, stating that Özbek was never a screenwriter or consultant for the show.

Other significant developments include the arrest of former MİT member Enver Altaylı on charges of ‘instigating intentional murder.’ Altaylı has denied the allegations, claiming he did not know Kozinoğlu and that the evidence against him is part of a campaign. Additionally, Vatan Party Chairman Doğu Perinçek provided testimony to the prosecutor as an ‘information holder.’ The total number of detainees in the case has risen to nine, including former judicial officials and prison staff.
