Kaşif Kozinoğlu investigation reveals new witness testimony and legal motions
A renewed investigation into the death of former MİT official Kaşif Kozinoğlu has brought new witness testimony and legal developments to light in Turkey.
New witness statements suggest that director Osman Sınav was threatened in 2004 by Enver Altaylı, a convicted FETÖ member, to either change the format of the series ‘Kurtlar Vadisi’ or leave the production. The investigation is examining whether certain episodes of the series contained propaganda or organizational instructions favoring FETÖ. As part of this probe, Bayram Özbek has been arrested for allegedly interfering with the show’s script.
Separately, legal counsel for journalist Selahattin Günday has filed a request for his release. Günday is currently detained in connection with the Kozinoğlu investigation. His lawyer, Hüseyin Ersöz, argues that the allegations against Günday pertain to journalistic activities and that the statute of limitations for the alleged acts has expired. The defense also noted that there is no concrete suspicion of flight or tampering with evidence.
