Kaçkar BY UTMB to host international women's trail running camp

The Kaçkar BY UTMB, Turkey’s only UTMB World Series event, is organizing the ‘Run Like Her’ training camp for female trail runners. Scheduled for September 11–13, 2026, in Ayder Plateau, the camp aims to bring together international athletes to experience the natural beauty and culture of the Rize region.

As part of the preparations, a training program was held from July 20–25, 2026, supported by DOKA and Discover Kaçkar. Six female runners participated in technical training on a 21-kilometer course stretching from Ayder to Yukarı Kavrun, covering the full Kaçkar 20K route. Participants also explored outdoor activities such as stand-up paddleboarding at Avusor Glacier Lake.

The program integrates sports with local cultural experiences, including tea harvesting, tea tasting, visits to tea factories, and exposure to traditional tulum music. The camp's leadership includes 2025 Kaçkar BY UTMB 20K winner Beyza Güzel, French journalist and runner Cecile Bertin, and other experts from the running community.
