Kaçkar by UTMB ultramarathon preparations

Overview

Preparations are underway for the Kaçkar by UTMB ultramarathon in the Rize region of Turkey. In July, a 5-kilometer community run was held in the Çay Çarşısı district to promote the upcoming event, which is scheduled for September 11–13, 2026.

In conjunction with the event, the ‘Run Like Her’ training camp is being organized for female trail runners in the Ayder Plateau. This initiative includes technical training on the Kaçkar 20K route and integrates local cultural activities such as tea harvesting and traditional music. The program is supported by various organizations and led by experts including 2025 Kaçkar BY UTMB 20K winner Beyza Güzel.
