Greece: 21-year-old driver charged after viral dangerous driving video

Greek authorities have opened a case against a 21-year-old driver following a viral social media video showing dangerous driving on the Athens-Corinth National Road. The footage, recorded in July, depicts the individual driving through the Kakia Skala tunnels with car doors wide open and music playing at an extremely high volume.

Traffic police used the video to identify the vehicle owner and subsequently confirmed that the owner was also the driver. The individual was described by authorities as having turned his vehicle into a ‘mobile disco’ while traveling at significant speed in the middle lane, posing a severe risk to himself and other motorists in the vicinity.

A file for dangerous driving has been prepared and forwarded to the Misdemeanor Prosecutor. The driver was not arrested as the deadline for an immediate summary procedure had already passed.
